About The Position
The Commissioning Engineer performs startup and check out activities for new assets as assigned by the Commissioning Supervisor. This position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear energy centers with travel required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and/or support projects involving electrical, mechanical and process equipment and related systems.
- Develop test plans, test procedures, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary work plans with identified resources.
- Upon assignment, perform detailed system and existing equipment surveillance, and review specifications for equipment and construction details, review vendor O&M manuals, review contract for deliverable requirements, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist project engineer in the planning and coordination of work effort.
- Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.
- Support engineering assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with all systems.
- Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. PE License is preferred. Relevant engineering experience is preferred. Experience managing, supervising, or leading people preferred. Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, MCCs, motors, transformers, buses, instrument and controls engineering, field testing and troubleshooting of industrial equipment etc., preferred. Experience with protective relaying is preferred.
