Summary:
Reporting to the Corporate Secretary, the Regulatory Coordinator provides overall management of documentation for a number of regulatory facilities and rates proceedings. An appreciation of document controls and document management methods will be essential. The Regulatory Coordinator will be required to conduct front-line research and review of regulatory issues. The Regulatory Coordinator must be self-driven, keen to take on responsibility and capable of ensuring that work product is of the highest caliber. The Regulatory Coordinator will be required to provide a very broad range of services and must be adaptable and a quick learner.
Responsibilities:
- As work lead, establish processes, train team members, assign tasks, oversee work, liaise with internal and external counsel and instill a culture of precision and attention to detail.
- Provide information management and document control for Regulatory electronic and hardcopy material. Includes the establishment and maintenance of metadata standards and file naming conventions.
- Responsible for the management of the Regulatory proceedings calendar.
- Coordinate hearing preparation tasks, including logistics, binder production, information organization and information retrieval. Provide support to the hearing team throughout the proceeding. Includes travel and attendance at hearings.
- Act as "go to" person for the preparation and filing of facility and rate applications, Information Request Responses, correspondence and other proceeding submissions.
- Oversee the tracking of interveners, including the creation and maintenance of the intervener list and intervener binders and the updating of the intervener records in the consultation database.
- Provide searching and information retrieval services for the Regulatory team, external counsel, hearing team and other AltaLink departments.
- Oversee the printing, production, distribution and tracking of hardcopy binders for all regulatory facilities and rates proceedings.
- Act as technical interface between the AltaLink Regulatory team and the regulator (AUC). Also act as interface between Regulatory and other AltaLink departments.
- Responsible for the management and organization of the hardcopy regulatory library.
- Act as the "go to" person for problem solving, filings, and searching.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Regulatory Team Training Manual.
- Provide training to other departments on SharePoint, SAP Disclosure Management, the AUC's eFiling system and Hearing Buddy (an in-house MS Excel VBA tool).
- Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with AUC Rule 001 and AUC confidential rulings.
Qualifications:
- Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or post secondary degree/diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a regulatory and/or legal environment.
- Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
- Experience dealing with large regulatory applications.
- Understanding of regulatory processes and proceedings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills.
- Collaborative and diplomatic personality, team player is essential.
- Accurate and detailed proof-reading skills and natural affinity for details.
- Possess effective personal time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines and with minimal supervision.
- Paralegal training is an asset.
- Travel to attend hearings and ability to work overtime will be required.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS SharePoint, MS Excel and MS Word, including styles.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat professional.
- Advanced working knowledge of SAP Disclosure Management is an asset.
- Experience with RelativityOne is an asset.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes.
- Proven track record of good attendance and job performance.
