Description

Job Duties:

Assist with the coordination and management of the processes that provide an effective control environment around various risk management activities. Helps coordinate Risk Management and Compliance Committee Meetings. Provides analytical support used to identify and quantify corporate risks and assist in the development of strategies, reports, and systems to manage and monitor corporate risks. Manage the credit review process for energy counterparties.

Also, assist with coordinating the corporate strategic planning process. Helps develop tools and methods to communicate strategic plans to targeted audiences. Assist with the integration of input from executive officers, department managers, and board members into the strategic planning process. Responsibilities include interaction and communication with company senior management and individuals throughout the company.

  • Provide analytical support used to identify and quantify enterprise-wide risks and assist corporate managers in the development/enhancement of strategies, reports, and systems to manage these risks. Also, assist in developing and maintaining risk management policies and procedures as well as trading/internal controls to provide an effective control environment over risk management and trading activities.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting on enterprise-wide risks and compliance with risk management policies and procedures, including interest rate, credit, price, and operational risks. (Produce enterprise risk dashboard and key indicator reports, developing mark-to-market and other risk measures, and coordinating with other departments for source information and report validation.)
  • Manage the credit review process for energy counterparties, facilitating compliance with company credit policy. Also, perform credit review and analysis for energy counterparties to supplement credit reviews received from ACES Power Marketing. Activities include: participating on internal Credit Committee, coordinating credit review/approval processes, assisting in monitoring credit risks, reviewing and negotiating credit provisions within master electricity and gas contracts, and maintaining copies of letters of credit and counterparty guaranty documents.
  • Assist with the coordination of RMCC activities, including RMCC meetings and documentation and implementation of RMCC decisions and policies. Manage the preparation of materials for the RMCC materials and coordinate with RMCC presenters.
  • Assist with coordinating the corporate strategic planning process. Activities include helping coordinate Asset Strategies Team Meetings and the annual Board Strategic Planning Session (as needed); developing and maintaining tools to track and communicate strategic plans.

Required Qualifications:

Education: BA, BS, or BBA in Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Statistics, or related field from an accredited institution.

Experience: Six years of experience in enterprise risk management, trading control, SOX accounting compliance, electric utility generation planning, or financial analysis.

Equivalent Experience: Three years of auditing and consulting experience with a Big 4 firm, or four years of experience in auditing, accounting, or finance with applicable Master's degree or certification.

Specialized Skills: Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is strongly preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills are also desired.

Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications: CPA, CIA, MBA, or Masters in a related area are strongly preferred.
