Description
We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas Control Specialist in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location.
Job Responsibilities
The Gas Control Specialist duties consist of:
- Analyzing problems and dispatch appropriate personnel to resolve.
- Monitoring and analyze alarms for validity and determine the impact on gas distribution system.
- Checking odorant rates and adjust odorant pumps to maintain proper injection rates.
- Pinpointing unusual conditions of gas distribution systems using the SCADA system.
- Monitoring and remotely control gas system pressures.
- Remotely control flows and pressures at gate stations to maintain system integrity and contract compliance.
- Take action to resolve problems by calling out and interacting/directing analysts, crews, and proper field personnel.
- Shift system flows and pressure to balance load and comply with pipeline supplier contracts.
- Analyzing system and customer gas requirements to forecast gas needs for current and extended contract days.
- Call out appropriate personnel in all districts to handle customer problems outside of normal office hours.
- Log daily events as required.
- Assisting in training of new Gas Control personnel.
Position will be a rotating Fixed Shift.
Minimum Experience Required
- Applicant must comply with DOT Part 199 pipeline drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- This position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
