Rhode Island Energy a PPL company is hiring a Technical Trainer for the Electrical department in Rhode Island.
Job Purpose
To deliver high quality learning experiences that meet electric clients' technical, regulatory and safety learning needs through a blended learning approach and support the design and development of learning solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver and designing technical training programs to electric clients through a blended learning approach (theory & practical)- conduct continuing education training,
- Train and monitor employees to ensure that they meet and qualify for electrical progression classes.
- Aligning courses to meet external requirements such as OSHA requirements, NFPA, ANSI, and operational priorities and best practices.
- Exhibit willingness to learn and teach new program curriculum and adapt to needs of the department.
- Conduct training on electrical equipment, (theory and hands-on practical), demonstrate company approved methods of electric installations to field personnel.
- Administer testing and conduct physical and technical assessments.
- Collaborate with the electric lines of business to aid and progress related needs, such as tools and equipment, writing procedures and supporting safety initiatives
- Develop strong relationships with leaders, schedulers, supervisors and field work force as a trusted training partner
- Conduct assessments of training needs associated with the introduction of procedures and technology to ensure best practices into learning methods and programs (Example Electronic Pre-assessments, knowledge checks)
- Support the design and development of cohesive and innovative curriculum and training programs for electric clients.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on various committees and during the modification and creation of new technical training programs, and E-learning modules.
- PC and MSOffice proficiency for computer-based training and records maintenance.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years' direct experience in electric field operations and additional five (5) years' experience in combination of electric field operations and/or electric/overhead lines instructor position
- Familiarity with electric/overhead lines regulationa & procedures
- Excellent knowledge of electric/overhead line-related equipment.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, I-pad, word, excel etc.
Licensure / Other Qualifications
Driver's license is required
