JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for promoting Safety Excellence in every activity. Responsibilities also include the Supervision of the 11 Distribution Construction Coordinators that are responsible for and support the OH/UD construction, maintenance, Joint Trench, storm restoration and overall needs of the distribution areas that are outside of Metro Atlanta, as it relates to contract line resources. Additional duties include, but are not limited to contract administration, invoice auditing/approval, setting and maintaining GPC expectations with contract management, providing and relocating contract resources for storm/emergency response, V3/supplemental staffing needs, OFS training/implementation with contract resources and storm center assistance during major restoration events. Travel around the state and the SOCO footprint will be required for storm restoration from time to time as this position will assist affected areas with contract crew allocation/contacts, coordinator assignments, and general SERP assistance. This position will also work closely with the Area Distribution Managers and Engineering Supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction, quality of construction and responsiveness to trouble events are met. The Distribution Construction Supervisor will also be expected to promote and ensure statewide success with our Joint Trench program.

Job Responsibilities - The Distribution Construction Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of GPC's field contract employees. Through leadership and teamwork, the incumbent's core responsibility is to ensure and challenge the safety performance of all employees and contractors in each region. This position will help to manage the current and future contractor resources needed to construct and maintain GPC's Distribution System. This role will help to ensure supplier inclusion goals are met through mentoring and supporting our small and diverse contract vendors. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize appropriate performance management tools to improve the performance of employees. DC employees should look to continually improve customer satisfaction by striving to exceed the expectations of our internal and external customers. Safety goals/accountability, increasing contract personnel productivity, and improving the distribution system reliability through quality construction practices are also key responsibilities of this role. Timely and effective response to all storm restoration needs for the state, will be expected.

Education - High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements - Extensive line construction experience in Distribution required including overhead/underground. Experience managing contractors is preferred. Distribution operating experience required. Joint Trench Program experience preferred. Supervisory/leadership experience is preferred. Extensive Storm Restoration Experience required. Experience with Contract administration and execution preferred.

Ability to demonstrate being a Human Performance Champion.

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:

Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).

Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
