Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Supervisor for the Substation Engineering group within the Electric Transmission department of Dominion Energy Virginia (DEV).

System Protection Automation & Analysis (SPAA) strategically deploys monitoring equipment and in-house diagnostic tools to enable teams across Dominion Energy to expedite restoration of service, direct fact-finding investigations, and facilitate NERC compliance activities. Our vertically integrated ownership of sensor data and cross-disciplinary electrical engineering, software development, and data processing skillset allows us to safeguard electric grid reliability through 24/7 fault analysis, thorough records of past disturbances, and high-resolution historical voltage and current data.

This position supervises company and contract engineering resources that are required to perform substation physical design engineering, system protection engineering, data communications engineering, conceptual engineering, standards engineering, equipment engineering or circuit calculations engineering for all company electric substations. Leads team to provide project solutions that may involve engineering calculations and studies, design drawings, bills of material, construction and material specifications or digital device programming that are required to build new, or expand or refurbish existing, electric Transmission and Distribution facilities. Assigns work activities and ensures their accuracy and timely completion. Applies highly specialized knowledge in leading engineering teams and providing training to new members. May provide support to the SERC Near-Term Analysis function as required.

This role is located in Glen Allen, VA and works a hybrid schedule. Relocation assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor
