In this position, primary duties will including:
- Communicating with members in a call center environment.
- Resolving member inquiries regarding credit letters, fuel assistance agencies, Helping Neighbors, reconnection criteria, Cold Weather Rule basics, disconnect criteria, EFT, and works with delinquent members to determine payment arrangements, etc.
- Processing requests from current and prospective members who are attempting to establish or terminate electric service with Dakota Electric Association.
- Resolving member inquiries regarding bill and account information as well as capital credits.
- Marketing energy conservation programs and services to residential and commercial/industrial customers.
- Analyzing and resolving requests by members for meter reading/billing adjustments.
- Processing member service orders for completion and accuracy, identifying and eliminating potential problems, and distributing orders through proper internal channels.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Five years experience in a comparable position with another utility or similar company and knowledge of customer information systems.
- An ability to type 50 WPM accurately.
- An ability to handle irate members.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- An ability to respond to a variety of member service calls including transfers, collections, high usage, etc., as well as promote DEA's programs and services.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts within the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. depending on coverage needs.
