Description
Key Responsibilities
- Partner and collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions in a professional and ethical manner
- Prepare and manage the creation of engineering designs to meet/exceed clients and local municipal standards; this will primarily include: concept development, preliminary and detailed designs, and submittal sets
- Maintain project budgets while clearly and efficiently communicating to internal management and clients
- Complete preliminary and detailed design on a variety of project components including residential road works, sanitary and storm systems, water distribution systems, storm water management, and lift stations
- Supervise and administer construction work and work with our clients and contractors as required
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer designation with minimum 5+ years of progressive experience working with municipal and land development projects
- Experience with engineering of roads, water, sanitary and drainage systems
- Strong technical background with expertise in design, construction survey and inspection
- Proven expertise regarding construction services including tender preparation, contract administration, and field review
- Committed team player
- Strong time management skills with the ability to respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven success in setting and meeting performance goals
- Strong focus on managing multiple projects with a solid commitment to exceptional client service on an ongoing basis
- Past experience with progressive design techniques, LEED or otherwise, would be an asset
