Description
Purpose:

Working as part of the Bakken Facilities Engineering department, the role will provide Geographic Information Systems technical support for the Bakken project. Responsibilities will include working directly with the Lead Engineering Technician (GIS/CAD), helping to ensure that the GIS database has the most current and accurate data available.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineers, well planners, land personnel, contractors and construction personnel to ensure data representing proposed and existing infrastructure is accurate and complete.
  • Utilize ArcGIS to migrate GIS data into the SDE database.
  • Track projects to confirm that all requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Enter data into the PODS database using New Century software (Facility Manager).
  • Create as built alignment sheets from the PODS database.
  • Process GPS data with Trimble Pathfinder Office.
     
Requirements

Experience: 

  • Requires Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in GIS or 2-5 years practical experience in a GIS position.
  • Requires experience with ArcGIS 10, Pathfinder Office, Terrasync, MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Experience with PODS (Pipeline Open Data Standard) preferred.
