Responsibilities:

  • Provide post-sales support for RuggedCom product suite, in particular Switches, routers serial servers, NMS, software security solutions and Wireless products 
  • Work closely with Sales, Technical Support, Engineering and various internal groups to expedite customer resolution 
  • Must be a self-starter, self-driven with excellent communication skills and act as customer interface while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction 
  • Utilize telephone and remote isolation diagnostic and resolution tools, documents and capabilities to resolve complex integrated end user implementation configuration and operational issues in a timely manner 
  • Support will include 3rd party products/solutions and occasional onsite support 
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and exercise appropriate discretion to establish customer relationship management for successful services delivery 
  • Log and track cases in Trouble reporting system 
  • This position will occasionally require availability outside of regular business hours in order to resolve critical field issues or to maintain Service Level Agreements with the customers
  • Position will require delivering 24 /7 rotational on call technical support as well as maintaining service level agreements for customers 
  • Excellent Project Management skills 
  • Should have excellent internet working experience, customer service, presentation skills and ability to handle issues from inception to conclusion 
  • Perform system setup and testing as required to duplicate field issues
Requirements

Qualifications

Engineering qualification with working knowledge of configuring implementing proof of concept, troubleshooting, testing and design of the following data networking technologies: 

  • TCP/IP, Ethernet , VLANs, VPN/Firewalls/Security
  • Routing protocols - OSPF (Strong), BGP, RIP, VRRP
  • Network Security - Firewalls, IDS, SSL/TLS, PKI
  • Frame Relay, ATM, SONET, MPLS
  • T1/T3, ISDN, DSL, VOIP, RSTP/Spanning Tree
  • Testing equipment - sniffers/protocol analyzers/traffic generators
  • NMS 
  • Wireless WiFi technologies: 802.11a/b/g/n , WiMAX
  • Basic VBScript, PERL, BASH SHELL, PHP, JAVA scripting knowledge and Basic database/SQL skills will be the bonus

Special consideration will be given to candidates with the following attributes:

Recent (last 2 years) Cisco certifications or other vendor certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Security Certifications are a plus.

  • Prior experience providing solutions and technical support 
  • Bilingual French speaking an asset.
  • Strong English Communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
