Job Description

Purpose & Accountabilities 

  • Provide leadership, support and training to Maintenance Department for rotating equipment.
  • Responsible for managing site maintenance programs for Preventative Maintenance(PM), Spare parts, Policies, Procedures, Practices and Guidelines, and daily technical needs of the operating site within their specialty.

Dimensions  

  • Focal Point between Craft Team Members and Engineering 
  • Manages all off site repairs
  • Manages on and off site contractor support
  • Has direct impact on turnaround plus maintenance budget
  • Direct impact on the site reliability based on managing a preventative maintenance program

Additional Information

  • Spare part inventory and ensuring that the inventory is monitored and evaluated on a set frequency to ensure we have the appropriate inventory
  • Ensure that critical pieces of equipment are identified and managed to ensure plant reliability 
  • Owns the Preventative Maintenance Program and is accountable to ensure the proper PM's are in the system with the appropriate documentation to ensure compliance 
  • Manufacturing documentation control, all maintenance practices, procedures, and guidelines 
  • Support and guide the site Maintenance Craft Team Members (CTM) and Operations Shift Team Members (STM)
  • Trade focal point for the Global Asset Management Excellence - Reliability Centered Maintenance (GAME RCM) process
  • Work within and drive the maintenance business process Global Asset Management Excellence - Maintenance Execution (GAME ME) within manufacturing and work on efficiencies within maintenance
  • Develop a succession plan to ensure development of future CTM and Specialists
  • Develop expertise in operational reliability systems and management (Root Cause Analysis)
  • Participation in Area Coordination Team meetings 
  • Lead activities to correct chronic reliability issues (Bad actors) 
  • Liaison with Vendor Representatives when conducting repair work

 

Requirements

Skills & Requirements  

  • 10+ years industrial experience as a certified Journeyman or Technologist in a machinery maintenance role
  • Knowledgeable in codes &standards, practices and technologies within the machinery discipline
  • Knowledgeable within the computerized maintenance management system modules and Equipment Monitoring Systems
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of preventative and predictive maintenance processes, maintenance reliability processes and best practices, roles of specific trades and manufacturing processes in an Upgrader, Refinery or similar Petrochemical operation
