The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The NYISO's System and Resource Planning department invites applications for a full-time Planning Analyst, Load Forecasting & Energy Efficiency.
A Planning Analyst for Load Forecasting and Energy Efficiency will specialize in long-term forecasting. The Analyst will prepare long-term forecasts, budget forecasts, and annual peak demand forecasts, as well as maintain databases of economic data, weather data, and demand-side technologies such as solar photovoltaics, distributed energy resources, and electric vehicles. In addition, this position will monitor activities in energy efficiency policy programs and coordinate preparation of the annual Load and Capacity Data Report.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mathematics, Applied Science and Math or Engineering, required; Masters degree preferred. Five or more years of related experience in load forecasting, operations research, load research, applied statistics, or mathematics required; or combination of education, experience and training.
