Description
An engineering company, focused on providing custom solutions to utility companies across the country is looking for an Electrical Production Technician to support our growing product line. We have provided custom equipment, products and services to utilities for over 100 years and have evolved into a full service solutions provider.

We are looking for hardworking, dedicated, and conscientious people to help us grow our manufacturing/production environment. The opportunity will support various functions in our Manufacturing Group and reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The following is a summary of work, skills, and experiences needed.

Position Objectives

Build electronic systems, components, and parts by completing assembly and testing procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Electronic Production Technologies, Electronic Systems, Quality Focus, Equipment Maintenance, Read Electrical and Assembly Documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Complete electrical assembly of industrial equipment. This will include layout of electrical relay and control panels. Drill, assemble, and install components using supplied engineering layout, schematic, BOM, and or sketch. Pre-wire panel assembly (ductwork, terminal blocks, relays, conduit, etc.) on the bench and install into the equipment frame for final wiring of sub-assemblies. Complete final assembly wiring and execute wiring review and verification before equipment quality inspection, test, and final configuration.

  • Use proper wire lengths and connectors to maintain a clean assembly.
  • Apply proper stripping and crimping technique to insure good electrical connections.
  • Ability to tighten connections with the appropriate tools.
  • Use best practices for wiring, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Layout, drill, and punch holes in various enclosures following an engineering print/layout.
  • Apply precision measurements using measuring tape, square, scale, micrometers.
  • Capable of using a multi-meter, to check continuity, voltage, and current.

Other Duties

  • Support the corporate Continuous Improvement Program by identifying and proposing all cost reduction and product improvement ideas.
  • Manage your time efficiently and with minimal supervision. Meet required deliverables and expectations. Communicate issues and delays immediately before they affect project schedule.
