Department Overview

The Human Resources department is committed to providing PG&E employees with the tools,information and services to help deliver safe and reliable gas and electric service to our customers.The Performance and Succession team is a dynamic group within the Talent Management Department that focuses on designing and implementing tools and processes to drive high performance and build a strong leadership pipeline.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the execution of performance management and succession planning in order to evaluate, identify, develop, retain and deploy internal talent. The Talent Management Consultant will be responsible for modifying or expanding upon existing tools, processes or tactics to tailor to unique needs of client groups and for identifying and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated consulting skills, including proven ability to build strong working relationships and effective communication (verbal and written), influencing and negotiating skills. The successful candidate will have knowledge of established methods and procedures used to evaluate performance and potential; knowledge of methods and procedures to manage qualitative and quantitative data and knowledge of training and communication methods to effect behavior change. Experience in implementing technology solutions is strongly desired.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as point of contact for Human Resources and the business on inquires related to performance and/or succession management programs; ensure consistent application of the programs across the various business units and promote standardization

  • Enter, extract, and analyze data from talent management software (SuccessFactors); design reports and track metrics

  • Proactively identify trends and issues within business functions that impact delivery of performance or succession management processes; recommend and implement process improvements including technology applications

  • Gather intelligence, benchmark, and conduct research to evaluate effectiveness of tools and processes

  • Deliver training for leaders and employees on tools, policies, procedures, and online tools

  • Design communications such as presentations, written guides, and training aids to support the successful implementation of talent management strategi

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Business or Human Resources related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in designing and/or implementing Human Resources programs including experience facilitating groups and delivering training presentations
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with assessment related work (e.g., employment testing, performance evaluation, or leadership assessments)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience managing qualitative and quantitative data and conducting statistical analyses
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience with strong attention to detail, systems and processes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office with expertise in excel

Desired

  • Experience administering talent management programs using HR technology; especially SAP HR applications
  • Experience managing or delivering Executive Leadership programs
  • Master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Organization Behavior or related field
