  • In-depth knowledge to design, develop, modify, adapt, and implement short and long-term solutions for technology services needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure.
  • Provides support in solving technical issues including evaluating, implementing and supporting new technology solutions as they become practical.
  • Ownership of Enterprise System Monitoring (SolarWinds) environment including design, documentation, configuration, implementation, incident management, monitoring, senior level troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and system upgrades.
  • Responsible for Linux environment installation and configuration, maintaining security, systems performance and monitoring, maintenance and upgrades, while providing technical guidance and support.
  • Provides technical expertise to plan and manage supported infrastructure components such as application, database and web server hardware and operating systems, SAN and iSCSI storage, server and storage virtualization, data replication, provisioning, automated operations, and network control software, adapters and servers.
  • Experience or capacity to understand performance and condition monitoring systems and technologies.
  • May be required to lead to mid-size to large projects, project teams, performing all project management duties.
  • Administers remote dial-in access.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Will report to the Moncks Corner location.
  • Manages cross-functional project teams for the enterprise including evaluating and implementing new and secure technology solutions as they become practical. Project management experience and proficiency with PM methodology. Manages and leads medium to large multi-functional project teams according to the Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
  • Evaluates new TS developments and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and /or enhancements to current systems. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Reviews system requirements and business processes; tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software customizations using a variety of languages  for multi-platform applications such as backup and recovery, data replication, proactive system monitoring and management, provisioning, server and storage virtualization, automated operations and enterprise workload scheduling.
  • Conducts performance monitoring, capacity planning and predictive analyses to identify and resolve potential issues using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient application operations.  Identifies,  diagnoses and resolves technical problems related to failure/integrity of supported infrastructure components.  Provides technical support to internal users of computer applications and hardware.
  • Develops and tests plans to ensure the continuity of critical business functions and minimize information loss in the event of a disaster.  Institutes loss-reduction mechanisms to lessen the exposure to disaster risks.
  • Reviews licenses and/or contracts to ensure that hardware and software equipment is covered by the contract and properly documented.  Coordinates with the procurement function to select and negotiate with hardware and software vendors in order to purchase the appropriate equipment at the lowest cost.
  •  Serves on-call 24 hours, 7 days per week, responding to escalated problems as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree is required and five years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Must be able to operate motor vehicle and have a valid drivers license.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of:
  • Hardware/Software - Experience supporting various Operating Systems (Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012), Dell Servers in an enterprise-level Active Directory environment.
  • Must have experience supporting Red Hat Linux (RHEL 7, RHEL 8) including, configuration and deployment in an enterprise environment.
  • Storage Area Networks - SAN Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet and iSCSI connectivity and zoning, EMC storage arrays, Dell iSCSI storage arrays, storage replication, data encryption.
  • Backup/Recovery/Virtualization Technologies (VMWare Technologies).
  • Security Service - Apply hardware and operating system hardening recommendations; Implement security best practices for the OS, hardware and their components; Discover, assess, and resolve OS and hardware vulnerabilities and exploits. Fundamental knowledge of both hardware and software firewalls.
  • Coordinate and assist in actions to install, configure, document, troubleshoot and maintain application environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting (preferred).
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
