Position Summary

The Principal Program Manager position will partner with enterprise support functions to lead large, cross-functional initiatives that improve Electric Engineering's safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.  Key areas of focus may include: Leading the communication strategy for Electric Engineering, as well as supporting strategic planning, lean maturity, waste elimination, and affinity and employee engagement planning. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing the communication strategy for Electric Engineering
  • Drafting organization-wide email communication for the office of the SVP
  • Planning and coordination for EE Electric Leadership Team meetings
  • Possesses general knowledge of fundamentals of English grammar and writing skills
  • Preparing and executing specific communication initiatives for the organization, including project plans, timelines and milestones, communication documents and other collateral materials.
  • Developing communications plans and strategies to leadership
  • Working with senior leaders across functions to influence effective communication and breakthrough thinking
  • Long-term strategy development and throughput
  • Oversight of EE key performance indicators
  • Ownership or participation in continuous improvement programs
  • Oversees the development of Electric Engineering's People strategy, including employee engagement, talent management, and future organizational development
  • Building presentations for SVP report outs.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $ 136,000

Bay Area Maximum: $ 232,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Recognized subject matter expert who may represent Electric Engineering in enterprise command centers and other venues
  • May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives 
  • Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions
  • Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals.
  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives.  Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program. 
  • Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals.
  • Composes and designs presentations along with various complex and technical correspondence, communications, reports, documents, and other materials.
  • Researches, analyzes, and responds to various and escalated inquiries and issues, develop recommendations, and execute resolutions to support decision making actions.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent

 Desired:

  • PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
  • Skills in visual management and data analytics
  • Background in Finance or Investment Planning
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Influence skills
  • Self-starter, takes initiative to drive continuous improvement and excellence
  • Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights and recommendations
  • Experience in project or program management
  • Analytical and creative problem solving, strategic decision-making ability
  • Solid communication/presentation and interpersonal/collaboration skills
