Description

Your role in our success:

The purpose of this position is to advocate for Chesapeake energy delivery and choice by and through a strategic communications campaign utilizing media outlets, targeting current and potential investors, and liaising with various governmental agencies.

What you'll be working on  

  • Develop and implement communication strategies which advocate for energy choice, energy delivery and essential services. 
  • Craft strategies which ensure positive media coverage for Chesapeake which includes, but is not limited to, press releases, media kits, press conferences, and the coordination of interviews with key Chesapeake leaders and the media. 
  • Prepares speeches for key senior leaders to be delivered to targeted internal and external audiences which align with Chesapeake mission, vision, values and brand. 
  • Coordinates all internal and external communications with strategic communications units, regulatory affairs, inside/outside legal counsel, and various intra-organizational departments to ensure that all messaging is consistent and cohesive. 
  • Monitors industry specific issues which may adversely affect the Chesapeake story and respond with a tactical communications campaign which mitigates any damage or risk. 
  • Develops the corporate annual report and creates letters to shareholders which outlines the competitive landscape related to energy delivery and the associated strategic positioning of Chesapeake. 
  • Develops internal and external communications which align with Chesapeake's strategic objectives and enhances brand reputation. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors and senior leadership.

Who you are...

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or Marketing; Masters Degree preferred. 
  • 3 years of experience in media relations, regulatory experience, technical writing, speech preparation, digital communications, and financial reporting. 
  • Certifications from the Public Relations Society of America or the National Investor Relations Institute are preferred. 
  • Knowledge of the investor relations industry, media relations, public affairs, strategic communications. 
  • Expert communicator both written and verbal, preparing speeches for senior leaders, strong public speaking skills, and skill with technical writing specifically related to financial reporting. 
  • Brilliant time manager, critical thinking when crafting key messaging, versatile communication skills when responding adverse media reporting, and level-headed under pressure.

  • Remote working environment with periodic travel as needed, weekend work if needed
