Job Description
The Senior Manager - Strategic Analysis will provide leadership within the Operational Finance organization at SCE. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for performing and preparing financial analyses, reports, and models for clients across the enterprise, supervise projects and resolve issues that have moderate to significant financial or operational impact to the Company, act as a key consultant to senior management, and provide direction to the organization to achieve corporate and organizational objectives.

- Manages divestments of utility assets, including financial analyses, internal governance, regulatory requirements, and strategic oversight.
- Leads financial analysis of strategic business case proposals, including revenue requirement impacts, to facilitate executive decision-making.
- Develops post completion reports and lessons learned on major capital projects for the audit and finance committee.
- Directs labor-related financial analyses to inform negotiation and compensation strategies.
- Oversees recurring financial assessments, including cost efficiency (CE) metric sell-side analysis, procurement savings, and benefits realization and monitoring.
- Helps inform and set organizational strategic direction.
- Makes decisions on key business activities which have a direct impact on the department, other organizational units (OUs), or company. Direction and approval are received from executive management for strategic issues.
- Serves as trusted financial analysis expert, identifying and presenting cost information, risks, and analyses relevant to OU and company financial performance.
- Prepares and presents written analyses and interpretation of results to senior management and officers.
Qualifications
The Essentials
- Five or more years of experience managing, supervising, or leading financial teams.
- Five or more years of experience in roles supporting finance, budgeting, financial forecasting, financial modeling/reporting, accounting, or related financial activities.
The Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
- CPA/CFA/CMA Certification.
- Experience leading cross-organizational projects and associated change management.
- Exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
- Comfortable working with budgets, forecasts, variances, EPS, expense vs. capital, cost allocations, and accounting and related financial concepts.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and/or divestments.
- Experience with General Rate Case regulatory processes.
- Experience with SAP
You should know
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
